Winter Afternoon at Mallard Lake

Snow was on the way and as the sun dropped below the horizon an eerie pink glow started to spread across the sky.  I waited until the whole scene was bathed in pink light.  The light levels were low, so although I had the camera on a sturdy tripod, I had to use a large aperture to get a shutter speed fast enough to avoid the ducks blurring.  I then had to guess the best focal point to give me enough depth of field to keep as much of the scene as sharp as possible. I managed to shoot half a dozen frames before the ducks got bored and swam away.
